I wrote this song for my husband on our first Valentine's Day after we were married (2009). I had some help from my Gramma. I asked her what she would say to my Grampa if he were still alive. Crying, she said, "Please, don't leave." A year later, my husband would deploy and I would cry every time I sang those words. I don't cry as much over it these days. Nine years we've been together, and we're still holding hands.
